Today is Thursday, when I'm writing this for real. I accomplished what I wanted: laundry, this, the tape, which I named "Train Blah Rae" after a line in Ben's journal from a month ago, and sent in the mails postmarked West, shopping, wrapped presents, did some cleaning, received Nuggets and Nuggets II (oh boy am I ever excited!), packed (almost done.) Alyssa spent the day in airports, mostly Atlanta, for which I feel bad but she sounded okay. People have been asking me if I'm nervous about seeing her again. I suppose I could make myself nervous if I wanted to, but why should I? It just seems like not a very helpful attitude to have going into this. I'm glad. I trust that everything will sort itself out, for better or less better. Now I'm going to finish packing and pick her up from the airport. Unless we decide to be swayed by local severe weather warnings across the state (it's finally snowing here!) this will be my last entry for a while; we're going skiing and reading and cooking and resting in Wanakena. Happy New Year!
