Friday, November 1

i'm writing as i dj my radio show, and i can't figure out how to call up the right filemaker template for the program log, so i'll just keep a log here, and update it as i go.

today was lackluster and aimless [the productive moments - band practice, making cds and a construction-paper cd holder for ester - didn't balance the unproductive ones - staying in bed rather than going to french, failing to do much with my do besides the two things i mentioned. even worse were those things that fell in between, such as beginning to write about iceland only to have the post deleted, and using a graphics program i'd never heard of to make flyers for upcoming band shows, which was productive but time-consuming and mostly unnecessary because other people had already made flyers. those made me feel middling.] whereas yesterday was warm.

rather, yesterday I was warm. that started with yoga, which was in the somewhy very hot pearson-hall theatre. so nice, and it gave me an inner warmth that i carried for the rest of the day, as i smiled my way through the elements. spoke up in seminar, about photography and semiotics then showed man ray slides and we filled the time talking about them.

dinner at tokyo/peking with tony barone. they make really good sushi there. we talked about travelling, bryn mawr (where he's lived his entire life), the upcoming festival, george crumb, and the future (mostly mine). i got an amusingly ambiguous fortune: "you should be able to make money and hold on to it." i taped it to my wallet.

i saw the first half of "flammable contents," which was amazing and incredible, and inspiring in a way. i had to leave then for a lesson, which wasn't as enjoyable as dinner, but when i finished that the performance was still going on, and i got to see the last two pieces. dance rehearsal was delayed because of that, but also hyper-energetic because of it. but i left to go to a paces date with hannah and ester. that didn't happen either, and the only thing to do was cross a muddy field and fall into bed, to the end of "alice's restaurant" and then the pleasant burble of fishtank. funny how you can immediately acclimate to certain types of (bed)roomsound.

here's a song that there should be:

obero-nee
obero-nee
markento-nee
