Monday, August 23

i guess nobody has time to upblogdate these days. we're all moving or staying still. i'm trying to do both at once. my legs are tired. no? not anymore.

it took me four trains + one car to get home ("home") from vermont the other day. (um, thursday.) that's not bad. it tooked 1 car + 4 trains + 1 taxi + 1 bus to get there. that was mostly because of friday night travel mishaps - well, the 6 uptown was nonoperational so i had to take it downtown to brooklyn bridge but fortunately i got a 4 uptown that got me to grand central just in time and i made the metronorth but i closed my eyes and missed my stop so i got off at hartsdale and it took forever for a cab to come (this was at about 1am so there were no more trains) and then we spent a long time driving around scarsdale before we found the house - in the mean time the cabbie showed me pictures of his "girlfriends" - but i didn't mind it was a nice night and i was reading a good book (down and dirty pictures).

but why am i talking about transit, there are many more exciting things going on - like birthdays! laura 13 august rachel 15 august rebecca 16 august ben 19 august. how did i end up with so many augustbirthday friends? that was never the plan! laura's was good fun - she told you about it and about many of the other things we did in new york here. why don't i just live in new york already? this was an especially great fun-packed trip for 30 hours or whatever it was. really great concert, really great museum, meals, and friends, and shiny new apartments. you guys remember rachel right? well she was at basin harbor again, and it was kind of amusing but not difficult. on her birthday i had lunch with her and her boy gray, matador intern, and some other hangers-on. then i went to see phish - you know about that too. sorry ben that i didn't commemorate yours but it will happen (i'll probably be back there this weekend even.) what am i missing?

i also missed my own blog's third birthday, a couple weeks back. so. three cheers for that. same color scheme still going strong (how's that black search bar? i haven't looked yet.)

the library is going to close soon so i think i'll sign off now. some day i'll start writing lyrics again. like "back to the life." that's how i was going to start this.

oh, you know, i've started keeping a dream journal. the other night i dreamed that george w. bush won the election (again.) and it didn't bother me all that much. sorry.
