Radio silence. I wrote a letter to Alyssa last night, a pink and paltry missive, in response to her box and clothing and tape and letter and spoon. It was colored, as many thoughts have been, by the lingering sense of uncertainty that has plagued these twenty-four hours. I bought envelopes for it at the bookstore (and finally brought in my film to be developed, two sets of four by six matte prints) and now I'll go and find out what the postage is to Japan. NPR reported yesterday morning, at around 9:30, that the USPS is thinking about raising the price of postage again. Darn e-mail. I wonder how much the phone companies are profitting from the tragedies. Bush is raving about God and war. It is a beautiful day outside.
