so i went to open the freezer for an ice pop, thinking i would be nice to rebecca and me and the other people who prefer orange and red and take a grape one instead. then i heard a thick patty clattering which was confusing until i looked down and realized that hundreds of little cat food pellets were bouncing onto the floor. which was confusing until i realized that someone had put a container of cat food on top of the fridge in such a way that opening the hinge had pushed it off and it loosed cat food all over the room. so i went to get a broom, but then i noticed GoGo in the foyer eyeing the scene, so i quickly dashed over to shut the kitchen doors so he couldn't get in. that was even before i realized it was Anouk's food anyway. i swept up the best i could, inevitably getting a fair amount of dust and lint into the mix, but it seemed better not to just toss it. i'm sure they'll have enough sense to eat around the dirt. and i didn't bother to get at all the pellets in the hard-to-get places because i'm sure the cats will be better able to get them and will enjoy it more too.
this was the first notable thing that happened after i got home and found nobody else here, after i walked on broadway for a long time and ate mexican food for the second time today, with rabi after we didn't decide to eat at many other restaurants.
there is the bad news that we probably won't be able or willing to stay here in this apartment past the end of june. that's okay, i'm resigned to it now. the bad parts will be actually moving our stuff somewhere else, and not having this lovely neighborhood so near. but maybe it can be exciting to look for a new place for the rest of the summer. and definitely this means we have to have another party before we leave here, so it must be on the 28th. also, we will have piña coladas, i think. consider this you're invited. i haven't talked to my roommate(s) about this yet.
it's great to see the people that you saw yesterday
see them today and say "hey!"
"hey" they say and you go on your way
it's great to be the people that they saw yesterday
