Monday, December 1

feeling like a bad guy this morning because i slept through class when i was supposed to give a presentation, which is pretty jerky thing to do. i'm not sure if the situation is made better or worse because the technology for the presentation might not have worked anyway - i wasn't able to access my userfolder last night, for no apparent reason, so i had to save my scans and powerpoint on the mccabe workstation computer, and they might have been erased overnight. (i'd been planning to get up early and try to deal with the problem, but of course that didn't happen either.)

gaah. it's just not a good note to start out these three weeks, which are going to be notfun in some big ways, even though they'll be exciting otherways. just to have it all in one place, i'm going to list all the stuff i need to do, starting with the academics.

architecture presentation (?rescheduled… i'll probably do a lot more work on it now. but it is interesting stuff - renzo piano)
architecture paper (10-12 pp. due wednesday 10)
architecture final (friday 12)
ed observation journals (5 more, due monday 8)
ed curriculum project (long, also due wednesday 10. gotta go talk about it now and i have no idea.)
ed final (wednesday 17)
cinema - dtrt response (short)
cinema final (when?)
art final project (+ crit) (i need to come up with an idea)

ok. that's all doable, especially if i get some extensions, because this next week and a half is especially going to be crazy:
terpsichore - rehearsals (at least three this week/end?) tech (mon 8) dress (tues 9) show (weds 10)
party - planning, publicizing, preparation. sac meeting tonight; party tues 9 (come!!)
going to boston - sat 6 afternoon until sun 7 afternoon

and usual stuff, which will be de-stressing:
reviews (need to write today)
african (yay!)
voice class
cooking
practicing (i hope i get to do a decent amount - no juries, so that's less pressure, for good and bad)
band (hopefully we'll get to meet some. mostly to fortify for next semester.)
planning for the break
peopleing
etc.

well, i'll see you on the other side. time to ride. sure, i could have better utilised thanksgiving break to get ready for all this, but it'll be fine. it was, as usual, a tantalizing taste of notschool life. although in this case i actually enjoy being at swat and its craziness more than the uncertainty of the outside world (no time to go into that fully right now.) at least i got to go contra dancing twice (!) and i read a novel, which came as a refreshingly, er, novel (sorry) experience. hope i get to do more of that soon (and for the rest of my life!) okay, i gotta dash.
