Tuesday, December 30

oh, hello. i figure it would be nice to have something new up here before the end of the year (and tomorrow i'm headed into no-computer territory for a little while, rather than just occasional-computer territory, which is where i've been for the past week or more.) when i come back (the 5th, presumably?) i will doubtless have longer things to say and more time to say them, either accounts of recent activities or just ruminations on the year in general, but for now i'll just be brief (it probably wouldn't be a good idea to attempt the latter in these particular surroundings.) (it does seem like a good time for it to be new year's.)

brief travelog then: to boston last sunday (no new york first; instead i was a cold lonely lump on my bed, and made some big construction-paper mosaics. also i had some yummy butterscotch hot chocolate), where i failed to see carla, josh, or lucie, but had a nice time anyway. x-mas in scars. as usual (with side trips to yonkers for lotr and a renewed permit), then a few days to play in manhattan, with family and their various others (rent, which i didn't enjoy; samaras and currin @ the whitney, which i did), and then by myself (the other day i walked from 92nd down to washington square before driving to brooklyn - a no subway day; i found myself walking downtown yesterday too.)

in the meantime, i've seen a few excellent movies (especially z, devil's playground, and hudsucker) and one concert, and i've been in touch with folks in 212, 215, 246, 315, 407, 413, 505, 530, 585, 610, 617, 718, 914, 917, and possibly a few others. i won't tell you how many cds i've bought, but their average price was just over $6.

...and i just want to get you home
